THE CREATION OF
A SUNROOM
Surprisingly each new sunroom
begins its' life not on the factory
floor but on the design table.
Each sunroom is designed and
drawn on our computerized CAD
system, bill of materials prepara-
tion, production scheduling, in-
ventory control, and purchasing
requirements are generated.
Production assignments are
generated into batches, with
frame components for individual
units assigned an order number
to assure conformity within each
unit. A manufacturing "Master
Jig" book and part molds assure
uniformed detailed sizes for
every part. Custom designed
units have their own special shop
drawings generated to be ap-
proved by you and the shop be-
fore anything is cut. Detailed
inspections through out the
manufacturing process ensures
our high standard of excellence.
Mullion frames and beams are
pre -assembled to make sure
they have tight clean joinery
found in custom cabinetry.
Decorative profiles and daps are
performed at a detailing station.
Finally the parts are brought into
a spray both and a protective
stain finish is applied to the woos
components. This protects the
wood parts during construction.
Al glass components and win-
dows are crated separate from
the wood components. All stain-
less steel fasteners, caulking,
sealants & caps are kept sepa-
rate.
The final result is the most beau-
tiful solarium product that you
can specify for any application.
Backed by the pride and profes-
sionalism of the Morris
Sunspace craftsmanship and
production staff - and our 5 year
non -prorated warranty on wood
components and 10 year glass
seal warranty, the best in the
industry
. Lumber is carefully graded
A
3. Pre -filled caps and parts
5. All joinery is checked for a tight fit
2. All parts are milled to exact size
4. Hand sanded finish on all cedar parts
6. The end result is your sunroom

DIMENSIONS, CONFIGURATIONS, AND SPECIFICATIONS
THE SUNROOM BY MORRIS SUNSPACE
THE CLEAR The Sunroom by Morris SunSpace was developed specifically as a high quality
solarium addition. We didn't try to revive a hobby grade greenhouse by giving it
ADVANTAGES OF A a new name and a glossy brochure, not did we try to mix and match windows &
SUNROOM BY skylites to achieve our goal. We started with the premise of a fully integrated
construction system, with crisp lines and clean connections. We wanted energy
MORRIS SUNSPACE efficiency with out sacrificing style and we insisted upon using materials and
designs that could compliment just about any type of construction.
SYSTEM OVERVIEW
Tempered, insulated glass, a choose
from a variety of glass options for
comfort & safety.
Integral post & beam joinery to provide
a structural joint, simplifies assembly
while assuring a factory perfect joint.
Pre cut daps and precision millwork.
Clean connections and no -cut no -fuss
installation.
State-of-the-art glazing techniques, for
permanent, trouble free installations.
GLAZING:
All insulated glass panels are 34" wide
and have two 1/8" tempered panels
applied to a factory double seal spacer
making the overall panel thickness 7/8"
All glazing panels are tempered insu-
lated glass panels with 10 year seal
warranty, non -prorated.
GLAZING SYSTEMS — We offer an intelligent choice
ALUMA-CAP
SEALING SYSTEM
The best of both worlds. The
warmth of wood inside, and
non -weathering metal exterior
with a baked enamel finish.
The two part exterior cap has a
seamless "snap` fir system.
Condensation drains to the
outside, gaskets seal out the
water and hold the glass se-
curely to the beams. Ideal for
commercial applications.
HEAT -WELD
SEALING SYSTEM
Butyl rubber membrane with foil
backing is sealed onto the glass
surface, bridging adjacent pan-
els. The result is a continuous
air tight, tie tested, leak proof
envelope. Decorative cedar
caps have attractive routed
edges, secured with stainless
steel screws. Comes standard
with CWF cedar tone finish stain
applied to the caps.
Standard Roof Caps are 1/4" extruded
aluminum caps with a baked enamel
finish in bronze or white. (Wood caps
available)
Select GradeA", kiln dried Western
Red Cedar beams. Prized for its beauty
and durability.
Two coats of CWF ultra violet protectant
wood sealer & sanded. The same rich
finish used in luxury yachts.
Preformed aluminum flashings with
baked enamel finish. Non -rusting,
permanent protection.
Sanded bullnose and beveled edges
provides decorative millwork finishes like
fine furniture.
t
CODE COMPLIANCE:
The Sunroom structure is designed to
meet or exceed B.O.C.A. section 1110.2,
table 1110 minimum roof live loads, and
section 112.3b (exposure C) for wind
velocity exceeding 100 mile per hour.
STRUCTURE:
Structural framing members are solid
heartwood western red cedar 4x4 to 4x6.
All frame joints are mortise & tenon or 6"
SS lag bolt joint at eaves. Standard bays
are 36' on center. Standard roof pitch is
15 deg., additional center support beams
are used for 12' projections and up.
STANDARD SUNSPACES
At Morris Sunspace we offer you a choice of standard sunrooms. These sunrooms are outlined below in their projection
and height. We do offer at no extra charge an adjustable roof pitch to match your installation requirements. Ev6ry sunroom
below starts with a simple measurement, each bay width is 36" center to center. So each projection and sunroorn width all
have equal spacing therefore our windows, doors and accessories are standard to fit. Having this 36" standard nllows us to
have fewer wood & glass parts and it makes assembling this sunroom that much easier.
Custom sizes are available to any client as we do manufacture each and every sunroom ourselves and will design and cus-
tomize your sunroom to fit your project. There is a price adjustment for custom rooms but not as much as you think.
Read on and see if we have a sunroom to fit your project .................
