SEWAGE DISPOSAL NOTES
1. THE PROPOSED SEPTIC TANK SHALL HAVE A 1,500 GALLON LIQUID CAPACITY AND SHALL MEET
THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTIONS 15.223: SEPTIC TANKS, 15.226: CONSTRUCTION OF SEPTIC
TANKS, 15.227: PLACEMENT AND CONSTRUCTION OF TEES, AND 15.228: PLACEMENT AND
ACCESSIBILITY OF SEPTIC TANK OF THE CURRENT TITLE V REGULATIONS.
2. ALL PVC PIPE USED FOR THE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM, INCLUDING THE BUILDING SEWER SHALL
BE SPECIFIED SCHEDULE 40 PVC OR APPROVED EQUAL.
3. FINISH GRADE IN THE SYSTEM AREA SHALL ENSURE POSITIVE SURFACE WATER RUN-OFF ABOVE
THE SYSTEM. THE SEPTIC TANK, PUMP CHAMBER, AND DISTRIBUTION BOX SHALL BE PROVIDED
WITH A COVERED ACCESS MANHOLE AT GRADE THE DISTRIBUTION BOX SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH
A MARKER SET TO LOCATE THE COVER.
4. HEAVY MACHINERY SHALL NOT PASS OVER THE LEACHING AREA.
5. THE SURFACE AREA OVER THE SUBSURFACE DISPOSAL SYSTEM SHALL BE SEEDED.
6. THERE SHALL BE NO PARKING IN THE AREA OF THE LEACHING SYSTEM.
7. ALL BUILDING SEWERS AND INDIVIDUAL SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS SHALL BE MAINTAINED IN
GOOD REPAIR BY THE OWNER. THE USE OF ACID AND ORGANIC CHEMICAL SOLVENTS IN THE
SYSTEM IS PROHIBITED. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE SEPTIC TANK BE PUMPED EVERY TWO
YEARS OR MORE FREQUENTLY IF THE SYSTEM IS USED CONTINUOUSLY AT MAXIMUM DAILY
ESTIMATED SEWAGE FLOW.
8. MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION SHALL CONFORM TO THE THE CURRENT "TITLE V (310 CMR)"
REGULATIONS ENFORCED BY THE STATE OF MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION.
