Please be advised that after inspection of the aforementioned premises I did not find any alterations to the dwelling located on Plat 70 Lot 13 Albro Avenue, North Dartmouth. Bragaf� Local Building Inspector (/S Town of Dartmouth 400 Slocum Road North Dartmouth, Massachusetts 02747 Dear Mr. Braga: I am in receipt of both letters from you, one dated on August 19, 1987, and the other, on or about September 28, 1987. Both of these letters indicate that I am in violation of the Zoning By-Laws as they relate to the current and valid laws, as they are now enforced. I deny these charges, and further submit the following facts, some of which you are well aware of, through our previous discussions' relating thereto. First, as you are aware, I purchased a large parcel of property December 31, 1986, from Mr. & Mrs. Milton Reed, of 1213 Old Fall River Road, North Dartmouth, Massachusetts, 02747. On this property which I purchased contained; one, two family wood framed dwelling containing two separate and distinct living, sleeping, cooking, and bathroom.. convenients. Each with it' s own two separate escape routes, and each having in addition thereto, their own separate smoke detectors, as required and passed by the current Fire Chief, John MacNamara. I was further informed that I now had to up-grade the elec- trical system to present code standards, which I did. This work having been done by Mr. David Bigos, a duly licensed electrician. This work was passed and approved by the Wiring Inspector. Shortly after being informed by you of my alledged viola- tions, you stated were made by a Mrs. Nancy Cousineau. I spoke Js ( con't. ) with Mrs. Cousineau, and she informs me that she never made such a complaint, and further instructed me to tell you that fact. I did relate this to you sometime early in August of 87 , I realize that there could be some type of miscommunication, but further submit to you for your consideration the followings 1. I made no exterior, or interior change' s to this existing dwelling to convert it as a two family. It existed as a two family since the 1930' s. Mr. & Mrs. Reed used it for that purpose for the past 46 years, and subsequently, I am taking full advantage of the existing use. The property also contains two (2 ) mobile homes on the pro- perty, each being occupied by various people. They have occu- pied the same property location for at least the same period as the Reed' s did. It is my understanding that the reason this issue is now after many decades of it' s existence, is the fact that Mrs. Nancy Cousineau may find herself at odds with me over a power line hook-up, and this may be the underlying issue here, and not the alledged "Zoning By-Laws" violation. I hope you or your department does not find it necessary to apply pressure to me with respect to Mrs. Cousineau, in a matter not consistent with your official duties as the Building Inspector. As you are well aware, I am also an employee of the Town of Dartmouth, and in my capacity, would never violate any law, or behave in a manner not consistent with the title to become entangled in a domestic matter not consistent with my official duties:: I further submit that this property is in the process of being developed, and if this occurs on schedule, that dwelling will be either moved or razed within-the next six (6) months or sooner. A much shorter time frame I'm sure you'lllagree, it would take for myself or tl.is town to initiate eviction process, if in fact, your department decided to bring me before the court. I feel confident that neither your department, or the Town of Dartmouth, would want to spend unnecessary funds to bring what I feel is a somewhat "moot" issue, given the truth- ful facts you now possess, for a violation I did not commit.
